We Didn't Sponsor a Race Team
to Look Cool.
The decision to enter Formula GP wasn't born in a boardroom. It came from a conversation on episode 61 of the podcast — a roundtable with three men who had all, at different points in their lives, used physical performance as a mirror for their inner state. One of them was a former amateur racing driver. He made the observation that motorsport, at its best, teaches the exact same things the Billy Bisson™ community has been building toward: total honesty about your capabilities, disciplined preparation, the ability to perform under pressure, and absolute trust in the people working beside you.
Within six months of that episode, Billy Bisson GP entered the Formula GP championship as a sponsored entrant. No experience in professional motorsport. A fraction of the budget of the established teams. A car wearing navy, amber, and cream — the brand's colours — on a grid that had never heard of us.
We finished in the points in our debut season. More importantly, the men on the team — engineers, strategists, mechanics, and drivers — became exactly the kind of community the brand had been describing for years. It turns out you don't need a podcast to have real conversations. Sometimes a garage at midnight with a deadline and a broken suspension component does the same job.
